I was so glad when I was introduced to this wonderful and priceless object. Imagine one of your loved ones needing medical attention, and for some reason they can not speak up to tell someone what kind of help they need. I gave the “Medical Medallion” to my son, hoping he may never need it, but if he did, it could save his life. My son is very independent, he drives, he works but he is also 5/6 quadriplegic.
A couple of years ago my son was at home, he was just talking on the phone when out of the blue he experienced a horrible headache, then without warning he fell out of his wheelchair. He managed to call 911. When the paramedics arrived he was incoherent and really could not explain to them what was going on. A medical condition, called Autonomic Disreflexia, or hyperreflexia, which is associated with being a Quad, and can lead to dangerously high blood pressure, was the problem.
